I am indifferent to it all, really. Not to say that I view some of the changes as bad or good, but rather that, in the entirety, I don't "like" or "dislike" the new update.
However, I do feel that this will open up a new way to start for beginners who desire to go into journalism.
I'm sure most of my Watchers under 2 years of residence on dA are the ones marking that off. The other cluster are ones who don't write Journals, and non-Premium Members who don't use skins, or have Groups to maintain. (And among my Watchers, this is the majority). Those that use Skins instantly had them broken. There are a couple people who freakout about these being easily searchable (you could always do it via Google, but now it got really easy). There are a smaller number of people that in principle do not like these being treated as deviations or "News". There are people like me who instantly flipped out at the interfacing and just the shear idiocy that they still can't figure out how to actually appease the writers. News was something that already could be submitted by random users. So the ability to practice ones Journalism was available. Now we get more "baw" Journals in the News. Not an improvement.
Last poll was asking what do believe people see you as when it comes to being an artist, your theme. In this case, most people simply didn't know what people see them as. It's one of those unfortunate scenarios that can only be rectified through polling in order to know what actually goes on in your Watcher's brains. This current poll is about one of the features on dA, that is personally one of the most important to me, which is Journals. If you would like to know what changes happened exactly, either you can read my current attempt at a Journal (still trying to figure out where the "Edit" button is for things uploaded through Sta.sh, as there is a typo. There is a direct forum-fill method, but it's still bad) or do a simple dA search for your own Journals. It's a big change.
