Another year, another poorly upheld prank. Definitely did not put as much effort into this one, mostly since injury hampered my original plan (and I was not going to create artwork as part of a prank). The prank was pretty blatant; announce what day it is and announced a “special event” in order to mark it.

The intention was, was to celebrate my 200,000 page views in some sort of way or another. Conveniently, it fell within roughly a week of April 1. And yes, I knew exactly when it happened. But I was out of options and I needed a prank, thus making the mandatory kiriban a good candidate. And after three years straight of doing different pranks, it seemed like a viable option. Except there is a catch, the actual prank is that there was no prank at all. Not a lot of people wanted to play, which validates my prank, some people called me out for it, and some blatantly did not participate. Well, the joke is on you because I am offering a legitimate gift to be distributed at random to one particular person from the group that played. (Not everything I say is a lie.) The gift of choice is 2000 deviantart points, which of course can be used for badges, stamps, subscriptions, prints, and even commissions of the artists who choose to take them.

My apologies for making those around me participate in the annual narcissistic event that I happen to host. On the plus side, it’s nice to know that some people really do not trust me. But you can never be too cautious on a day like today. On the other hand, thank you for your sweet comments, they are all individually touching. Whoever said that the people on the Internet were jerks? Thank you again for staying wonderful!

I had a feeling it was a prank really, but it was so harmless that I really didn't mind playing along anyway. If the worst your prank does is fish for compliments then it's not something I'm upset about, heh. I've had worse April Fools pranks played on me by my dad when I was a kid, heh. We had some pretty epic prank wars over the years that never managed to get hurtful, thankfully.
