Under Different Circumstances

The second half of my genre Character Design assignment. This genre was sci-fi although I refused to stick it under the actual DeviantArt "Sci-Fi" category. All that work in there puts me to shame.
I can't say I'm pleased with this picture. Good design, good composition, good coloring, bad color composition. Oh, such a bad color composition. The main part of design is of the two characters (we only had to do one but they're evidently the focal point) which are my Pokemon species, Mewthree. Right is Vicebane, left is Mewblade, both with modified designs. Actually, Mewblade's design was changed to heck and beyond. Why I didn't originally design her like this is beyond me because she looks pretty cool (although too technical for her time). The only difference on Vicebane is the lack of the second neck and the change in his armor (I screwed up on this. His best sense is his sense of smell, and his helmet is blocking that.)
I say the year here might be in the 3000's AD and the fight is in a space colony. Bad idea would be to have a glass floor (no matter the resistance) since both of the characters would likely destroy it, then be killed in the vaccuum of space. Anyway, the two end up encountering each other and start preparing their attacks. Mewblade is metalled up, taking a standing stance since she moves better on her toes. Vicebane is wearing his armor and taking to the floor, since he likes to slink about and rise up into an attack. I guess their designs work for their attack preferences although how to explain the pair to the teacher is beyond me. I'm thinking some sort of mutant cat species mixed with human DNA to make the ultimate fighting machines. Fun...
