Description

The one problem with drawing a picture and not posting for nearly a month after it was conceptualized is that sometimes one forgets the really weird and interesting conversations that might lead up to this. Not that I don't entirely remember, though what results in this was convoluted and difficult to follow anyway.

Let's start off with the basics: The character is my Mewthree, Swadeaqua and she is covered in one of the most adorable Australian animals ever, the koala. How do I get to an image of this particular, very disinterested in animals character covered in the cuteness? Well, it starts off oddly too. So I have been buying tea tree oil mostly since I injured my leg terribly, and while it's still healing it has been neglecting to keep the skin in the area relatively moist and repaired. Tea tree oil is not eucalyptus oil, but it basically is used for the same darn thing. Partner complains, and says that the smell and amount would be good enough to attract several koalas to me. Possibly resulting in being covered in cuteness and saliva. Now, koalas are tree dwelling animals, and they have very sharp claws for a reason. I don't want my fair skin to be cut and punctured by them. We rationalize, that because Swadeaqua is a Dragon type Pokemon, and thus much more thick-skinned, then the koalas could climb her instead. She's tall, so sort of like a tree. Mental image ensues, and of course why not draw a picture of her being climbed upon by the sum of adorable? So here we have it, Swadeaqua and koalas. Aww.

Background was a cop-out since I realized that already the foreground was much too busy, and admittedly the color combination looks bad with vibrant green, yellow and brown, as dictates a proper Australian backdrop. Drawing the koalas wasn't too bad. They're a bit odd looking to a Canadian such as myself (we think beavers are normal) so half struggled between trying to make them look normal or cute, since eyes for them are kind of small and beady normally. Other than that, very basic approach. Pose was easy for my girl, and the rest was just a matter of animal placement. She still would never be anywhere near these things. Animal lover, she is not, so for me who knows this, the image just becomes rather funny.
