I kind of wonder how I get roped into the things I get roped into. I have one designer making me do more realistic monsters, and another has me doing the exact opposite with anime catgirls. The funny part... it took me way less time to do the ugly Cthulhu creatures than it did three benign looking catgirls. I have to admit the two designers must have a lot of confidence in my skills, since neither ugly monsters or anime girls are at all prevalant in my work. And I personally think I kick butt at it when given the chance.
Left to right: Magical Rose, Crimson Rose, and Iron Rose. Basically for this game it's an interactive story, and depending on how you interact and develop your characters, determines your evolution chain. It's kind of like Digimon in a way, except with little, scantily clad kitties. Designs were a bit restrictive, as well as the color schemes. I went overboard on Iron Rose since I usually find defense types unappealing, so hopefully she looks rewarding for that player type. Took me forever to do this. Partially because I'm really skittish when it comes to pure anime, and then just slow with Illustrator (and I crammed in asinine levels of detail that you likely can't see). I like how they turned out, they look authentic, but it's another piece to add to my gallery of, "Stuff that does not look like VLK drew it."
(I so can't wait to hear the voice actress. I'm sure she can really give an 'authentic' experience.)
